RPPN Areas
At Agrodan, growth does not mean occupying everything: it means protecting what matters.
We have set aside 687 hectares of our land as Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPN), legally protected areas maintained to conserve the biodiversity of the São Francisco Valley.
This commitment reinforces our belief that responsible agriculture goes hand in hand with environmental preservation.
What an RPPN is and how we work
A A Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN) is a category of protected area created on a voluntary basis and officially recognised by the government.
In practice, this means that Agrodan has chosen to protect part of its land permanently, with no commercial exploitation or deforestation, ensuring the preservation of native ecosystems.
Our RPPNs are home to typical semi-arid vegetation, springs and native species of flora and fauna, and play an essential role in the region's environmental balance.
Maintenance of native semi-arid vegetation
Shelter for local wildlife species
Protection of springs and watercourses
Ecological balance in agricultural production areas
Support for environmental education and scientific research
Preservation is a choice
By turning part of our land into an RPPN, we have made a commitment that spans generations. These areas are protected permanently, even if management or ownership changes, ensuring that nature remains alive, rich and essential to the balance of our ecosystem.
At Agrodan, we understand that producing with excellence also means knowing when not to intervene, respecting natural cycles and acting as guardians of the biome we are part of.
