Who We Are

More than fruit, we deliver trust, responsibility and a purpose that transforms the sertão.

Producing excellence with purpose for more than three decades.

Agrodan is Brazil's largest mango producer and exporter. Since 1987, we have combined technology, efficient management and a commitment to quality, harvesting more than 32 million kilos a year in the São Francisco Valley.

Beyond growing fruit, we create impact: we value our people, protect the environment and invest in sustainable practices that reflect our purpose of transforming the countryside responsibly.

Our Mission

To produce the best mango in the world safely and sustainably, respecting people, caring for the environment and promoting social development in the regions where we operate.

Our Vision

To become the leader in Brazil and worldwide in the production and sale of premium mangoes, with a focus on quality, consistency and responsibility, allocating 60% of production to export markets and 40% to the domestic market.

Our History

Founded in 1987 in the sertão of Pernambuco, Agrodan was born from the dream and the courage to turn dry land into a fertile orchard. Since then, we have grown through innovation, excellence and respect for people and nature, becoming Brazil's largest mango producer and exporter.

1987

The Beginning

With courage and a vision for the future, Dr. Álvaro Dantas pledged his assets as collateral for a loan from Banco do Brasil and, together with his sons Paulo and Jairo, launched the Agrodan project in the sertão of Pernambuco. The first irrigated area covered 41 hectares, growing grapes, mangoes and bananas.
1989

First Banana Sales

In the company's early years, Agrodan began selling bananas on the domestic market. This strategic decision was key to strengthening the operation's cash flow at a decisive moment in setting up the agricultural project. This early diversification helped sustain the business while mango production was still reaching maturity.
1990

First Harvests and a Firm Foothold in the Domestic Market

The first mango harvests began to be sold on the domestic market in 1990. Prices at the time were high, allowing strong financial results from the very first years of production. This performance was decisive in enabling the loan from Banco do Brasil to be repaid in 1991, three years ahead of schedule, confirming the viability of the project.
1991

Start of Exports

After three years of harvests, Agrodan broke into international markets. The success of its exports allowed the bank loan to be repaid three years early, a milestone that helped the company establish itself.
1992

Entering the European Market

After its first forays into exporting at the end of 1991, from 1992 onwards Agrodan began a structured effort to win over the European market. This push was backed by strategic international support and marked the beginning of the company's rise as an exporter, paving the way for the growth that would make it a national benchmark in the sector.
1994

Pioneering the Kent Variety

Agrodan became the first company in Brazil to grow the Kent variety on a large scale: a fibre-free, high-quality mango with a remarkable flavour. This decision established the brand as a benchmark for premium fruit.
2003

Packing House Expansion

Agrodan's fruit processing facility was expanded and became the largest in Brazil, able to pack up to 40 tonnes of mangoes per hour. A decisive step towards meeting growing international demand.
2006

Expansion into Bahia

Agrodan expanded its operations with the acquisition of 700 hectares in Bahia, strengthening its presence in the São Francisco Valley and increasing its production capacity.
2014

Introduction of the Agrodan Management System

Focused on efficiency and on valuing its teams, Agrodan adopted a new management model based on Basic Management Units (UGBs). Each team takes on its own targets, indicators and responsibilities, encouraging autonomy and meritocracy.
2017

Commitment to Education

The company opened the Escola Professora Olindina Roriz Dantas, a social project created and run by Agrodan. Located in the sertão, the school offers free full-day schooling with outstanding facilities to more than 200 children from rural areas.
2021

Largest Harvest in Our History

Agrodan set a new production record: more than 32 million kilos of mangoes harvested in a single year. This achievement cemented the company's position as the national leader in mango exports and production.
